Despite living on this planet for 28 years, I still act as though the day getting darker earlier at this time of year is something new. Although, so does my 94-year old nan. My time now is focused on a pivot for Nearly, but I'm still (barely) managing to get some time in for exercise and reading.
🤓 What I've been doing
I went to Princeton University for a few days to see a good friend and was amazed by the campus. Not only are the buildings stunning, but the students are treated like royalty (in the dining hall anyway)! The dining halls were unlike anything I'd experienced before and it felt like being at American Hogwarts.
Gym progress has been interrupted by travelling, so I haven't had a chance to push my 1RM up any further. Something to do this month.
📚 What I've been reading
Born Standing Up, Steve Martin - Steve discusses his journey into stand-up comedy and the resilience that's required to make it in the industry. I may consider myself a comedian (although my family and friends will no doubt disagree), but the real thing seems much harder than it looks. A testament to how masters of a craft make it look effortless.
Up next is a book of French short stories. I'm trying to improve my French and Duolingo doesn't cut it for me. I need immersion, rather than repeating banal sentences to a cast of cartoon characters.
🔮 What's coming up
This month is a quiet month ahead of travelling to a few countries in Europe in December.
